Taylor K. Wilkins
Taylor’s practice focuses on two main areas: private investment funds and start-up companies.
Private Investment Funds
Taylor routinely provides legal counsel to various types of private funds, including hedge funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds. Taylor assists private fund managers with the structuring and formation of their funds along with providing legal counsel on various matters such as conflicts of interest, securities laws, and investment adviser laws. In addition, Taylor assists fund managers with compliance matters such as investment adviser registration on a state and federal level.
Taylor provides legal counsel to start-up companies on issues such as formation, capital raising, and exit strategies. Prior to practicing law, Taylor participated in an accelerator program sponsored by Launch Tennessee which assigned the task of determining whether a new technology would be viability as a start-up company versus licensing that technology to another company. Taylor learned first-hand the challenges entrepreneurs face when starting a technology-based business and is now able to approach clients’ problems with a unique perspective having faced similar challenges often presented to entrepreneurs when trying to get a company up and running.
